DemandTools Help

for the MassChange Batch Module

MassChange is one of the easiest and most powerful modules in the DemandTools suite, MassChange Batch adds the next level of power to MassChange. When working in MassChange it has always been possible to save your MassChange routines as MCX MassChange saved routine. Since the inception of DemandTools many customers have developed some extensive libraries of these MCX files that are relative to their salesforce.com database. MassChange Batch will allow you to run MassChange MCX files at a directory level, literally making it possible to execute 100's of standardization rules with a click of the mouse.

The Masschange Batch interface below shows a MassChange batch that has already been setup to run.

MassChange Batch with directories loaded

The first step in the MassChange module is to develop or locate your existing directory libraries of MassChange MCX files.

Use the DemandTools MassChange module to develop the routines and save them in a logical directory structure based upon how you would like to be able to execute them.

MassChange allows you to give the directory a "friendly name" for easy identification .

Assigning friendly directory names in the MassChange Batch Directories Window

After creating a friendly name for the directory, use the pick button to actually select the directory on your local computer (or network drive) that you would like to assign.

The run button will begin MassChange Batch operations for the directory, also please note that on a directory by directory basis you can decide to optionally also run any MCX files in subdirectories of your selected directories.

Selecting which individual tables to replicate

The Add directory button will add an additional MassChange directory location in the top window. Up to 256 different directory locations are supported.

Clear will erase all the MassChange Batch directories from the top window (will not delete the actual file directory nor its contents) just in MassChange batch.

Once fully setup, Save will save your entire MassChange Batch configuration.

Controlling the MassChange Batch Directories Window

MassChange Status Window

After selecting Run on one of the directories in the top window, the job begins to process. The current status column shows if the job is queued (waiting), Running or Completed. When all the MCX files in the directory (and sub directories if selected) have been successfully processed and completion dialogue box will appear.

MassChange Batch Confirmation Dialog box

The dialogue box also contains the location URL for the logfile of the MassChangeBatch Operation

With the MassChange Batch tool you can:

bullet Save directories of "rules" and execute them on a regular basis easily.
